The DMV this past weekend was full of festivities! From Broccoli City Festival to pop ups mixed with beautiful weather, everyone was somewhere to be! XI is here to keep you in the loop so let's get to it!

Locals were live at the Broccoli City Festival this year which featured DC’s very own artist Ade’ surrounded by a plethora of new artist like Teyanna Taylor and Ella Mai, sprinkled with a couple of legendary names like Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino this past weekend at the FedEx field in Largo, Maryland.

Yes, Broccoli City always has undeniable stage lineups but according to last year 2018 audience, the service “sucked ass”, there were very limited bathrooms and 0% percent cell phone service. This year the people were pleased that it was more organized this year but were expressing their dislike of the venue, “I know Broccoli City is a festival but it keeps giving me big cookout vibes, I’m from California and I guess I am use to festivals having grass,” says a local BCF attendee.


Saturday @Kayemjay6 was on the pop-up scene, Sippin into Selfcare Saturday at the Granite City Brewery with Naturally Phased. @Kayemjay featured some new fire pieces straight off the press.

Jay-Z at Webster Hall

The re-opening at Webster Hall featuring Jay-Z was a phenomenal, timeless musical set. Making it a memorable time he surprised the audience with 2 legendary guest, Cameron and the one and only Nas. Jay-Z also stirred the audience up with his touching freestyle about the late, Ermias Asghedom aka, Nipsey Hussle.

JOHN SINGLETON (June 6, 1968- April 29, 2019)

Yesterday legend, writer and director passed away yesterday, April 29, 2019 after his family decided to pull the plug on his life support. John Singleton had health problems and had a major stroke at hospital Cedars-Sinai Hospital and was placed ICU in a coma for 13 days until he passed.

John Singleton’s debut film was Boys n’ the Hood, followed by Rosewood, Poetic Justice, Shaft, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Four Brothers and many other classic films.
